Red star ended season 22 at 5th place in the world, with 3188 points. It has defiantly been the best season in the teams history, going back to season 17 to find similar performances.
Team Manager Petter was asked give his tough about this season highlights:
“First of all, I must say it has been a great season for the whole team, with 8 riders racing in points. Rytis has been stable among the top 10 rider in the world the last 6-7 seasons, while Jan been continuous bringing in top results of the TT bike. Wayne have been a force to reacon with on the hill stages, and Ernesto and Estevan had some good breakaways during tour stages. Surprise of the season was Ivan, that came of an injury and performed very well in Germany. He kept his form and followed up with his first stage win in Austria a week later.
It has also been good for our sponsors to see 3 of our riders wearing their national jerseys. Rytis keeps puling on the Lithuanian knight before every race, Jan Ness is flagging the Norwegian viking colors, while Ivan is the biggest star out of Israel.”
On next season goal, our manager is still keeping his card close, but we got the following comments:
“8 riders with points where good, and next year we want 10! We also want to bring in a new sprinter that can learn from Rytis over his last 3-4 seasons. We are also exited about our Norwegian and Belgian hiller that where brought in this season, and expect them to blossom during this season”
